Medigus, the pioneer of endoluminal treatment for GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease), is pleased to announce that it has achieved excellent results in a series of trials conducted with its SRS endoscopic stapling device for the treatment of GERD. The trials were conducted by Dr. Amol Bapaye, Head of the Gastroenterology Department at the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital & Research Center in Pune, India.
A series of 3 trials were conducted on a total of 13 patients. All 13 patients that underwent Medigus’ SRS procedure demonstrated significant improvement in their Health Related Quality of Life (HRQL) score. In addition, use of daily PPI was eliminated in 92% of the patients. The patients had significantly lower acid exposure times than prior to the procedure and none of the patients suffered from dysphagia – one of the main side-effects of standard surgery treatments for GERD.
